I have been blogging a little less lately. I've had a distraction. Or should I call it an obsession?
I LOVE Christmas! I love all things Christmas. I also love to cut and glue things. So making the Christmas cards has been SO MUCH FUN! I think I have about 35 completed. I'm not sure exactly. But the ones I've made this week and this past weekend have been the best yet!
I originally wanted to sell them for $5. Cards at $5 at Hallmark, and these are hand made! Each one takes AT LEAST an hour to make and plenty have taken longer than that. I think that they are well worth $5. But, I want people to buy them. I think I need to rethink the $5. Jennifer suggested $3 each or 2 for $5. That is probably wise. I don't like it! But it's probably wise.
There is so much that I would like to do, but I am running low in paper! I am already $10 (I think) over what I said I would invest in the Holiday Open House, but I think I am going to broaden what I will display that day. Christmas cards are GREAT, but I will definitely also have gift card holders and possibly gift tags. But I may test out a few other crafts as well. I came across a crafting blog last week (we are slow at work so I googled "craft blog" or something like that) and it has given me SO many ideas! This lady, Kerry, is really fun! She does craft fairs which is something my mom and I have been talking about doing together for over a year now. There is a lot of research that needs to be done, and there will be an initial investment because we would not only need product to sell, but also displays to sell them on! But we are going to visit a craft fair in October and November and start forming a plan.
Why is it SO easy to get carried away in some areas and SO hard to get motivated in others?
